Mr. Anderson's business experience and legal experience provide a strong foundation in representing his clients during all aspects of the litigation process. Prior to attending law school, he spent time working for various venture capital groups in Florida, New York, and Washington D.C. His earliest venture included working for an ownership group in its successful bid to secure a National Football League franchise in Jacksonville. Mr. Anderson has served as the salary cap administrator and director of operations for the Jacksonville Jaguars. His time in New York included working as director of finance for a global technology firm, as well as serving as vice-president of a National Hockey League franchise, the New York Islanders.

Mr. Anderson is experienced in litigation, mediation, and appellate work involving contract or partnership disputes, banking and finance, insurance coverage matters, white collar fraud, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, corporate governance and construction litigation. He is well versed in matters dealing with information technology, intellectual property, sports and entertainment law, accounting and professional negligence.

Notable Client Work

  • Represented client in fraud cases in state and federal court, including recovery in excess of $1 million involving real estate and investment scam.
  • Defended a professional negligence claim involving a contractor’s $5 million lawsuit on a roadway project. Settled for client, a professional design engineer, with plaintiff for 2 percent of claimed damages.
  • Co-counsel in negotiated settlement on complex coverage issue for New York insurance company involving a potential wrongful death claim in Daytona Beach, Florida.
  • Prevailed for client at trial involving non-criminal traffic prosecution for reckless driving involving death of third-party truck driver. Avoided possible suspension, fine, restitution, and community service for client.
  • Mediated settlement for less than 1 percent of claimed $400,000 in damages against business owner of a restaurant franchise for exposure to environmental hazards.
  • Hired to overturn a prior default judgment against upscale steakhouse restaurant in Tampa, Florida. Vacated default and later dismissed plaintiff’s case for fraud.
  • Represents numerous business and banking clients in business disputes, lease issues, and litigation involving commercial real estate.
  • Pro-bono work as part of community effort that lobbied St. Johns County for traffic study and installation of traffic signal for 500-home community.
  • Recovered money damages for independent contractor involved in federal court action against insurance company for non-payment of commissions related to post-hurricane and catastrophe work.
  • Involved in reasonable resolution to A.D.A. claim in federal court against hotel owner.
  • Obtained dismissal of lawsuit with prejudice for negligent hiring and retention claim against client, a security company of a privately-held grocery store chain based in Florida.
  • Counsel for municipal government as creditor in Texas bankruptcy matter involving treatment of development agreements, executory contracts and surety bonds in excess of $10 million.
